Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Greenbrier East girls basketball faced Woodrow Wilson on Thursday as part of day four at the Big Atlantic Classic.
The Lady Flying Eagles established momentum, leading by up to seven points in the first quarter, and keeping that lead for most of the first half.
Greenbrier East rallied to tie the game at 29 going into halftime, but Beckley would take the lead early in the third quarter, before the Lady Spartans made plays to win 69-62.
Greenbrier East’s Haley McClure (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Woodrow Wilson’s Victoria Staunton (13 points, 13 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles, and the Lady Eagles’ Lyric Moon led all scorers with 20 points.
The Lady Spartans will play Parkersburg for one of the girls championships on Saturday afternoon, while Beckley faces Morgantown that morning.
