Bluefield, WV (WOAY) – Bluefield and Musselman are both known for making appearances in the boys state basketball tournament in March. Friday represented a chance for the two to face each other in Mercer County.
The visiting Applemen got out to an early lead, before the Beavers gained the momentum, making plays late to win 76-72.
Bluefield entered this game coming off a win against another Class AAA opponent in Greenbrier East, and the Beavers remain unbeaten when scoring at least 60 points this season.
Mookie Collier had 23 points for Bluefield, while Cody Fuller contributed 21. The Beavers will play Wyoming East in the Big Atlantic Classic on Tuesday evening.
