Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) – Fayetteville boys basketball is now 19-0 after winning 80-45 against Greater Beckley Christian on Tuesday night.
The Pirates would start the game with five straight points from Will Fenton, who would lead all scorers with 20 points. The Crusaders would respond with timely three-point shooting in the first quarter from Garrett Matherly, but the hosts kept momentum by going on a 19-2 run later in the first half.
Matherly led Greater Beckley with 14 points, while Chance Potter added 10. Marcus Lively contributed with 18 points for Fayetteville.
The Pirates will look to go 20-0 Friday at James Monroe, while the Crusaders are taking part in the WVCAT this weekend in Summersville.
