    Jonathan Chance grew up in Birmingham, AL where he experienced many different types of weather. The storm that is remembered more than any other is the 2011 Super Outbreak. The tornadoes passed within 20 miles of his home and affected the lives of many people around hime.

    Jonathan attended the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology in May of 2017. While pursuing his degree Jonathan was President of the Meteorology Club, did weekly forecasts for his university on the atmoscenter channel, and made forecasts for the football home games.

    After graduation Jonathan worked for WeatherVision where he forecasted for 10 television stations across the United States. This allowed him to get a glimpse of the weather on a national level rather than just one city. In May of 2017 Jonathan accepted a position as the Weekend Meteorologist for WOAY-TV.

    In his free time Jonathan likes to play sports, mt. bike, and hike. If it is nice outside you will probably find him outside enjoying the weather, and if the weather is bad outside you will probably find him outside enjoying the weather.
