CHARLESTON– West Virginia’s Attorney General is leading a 24 state coalition to roll back one of the Obama administration’s key initiatives.

Patrick Morrisey along with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton led a 24 state coalition urging President-Elect Donald Trump and congressional leaders to withdraw President Obama’s Clean Power Plan. They also want to ensure that similar or more extreme proposals never happen again. They sent a bipartisan letter addressed to Vice President-Elect Mike Pence, Senate President Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan. The letter suggests a four point strategy that begins with Trump rescinding Obama’s Climate Action Plan on day one. The state of West Virginia is already suing the EPA and awaiting a final ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals.
