Sheriff’s Office Needs Public’s Help Identifying Suspects

OAK HILL– The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office needs your help identifying two suspects in a multi-county fraud case.

In October, a Fayette County man was working at a home in Charleston when a white man broke into his truck and stole his wallet. The wallet had the victim’s driver’s license, Social Security card, bank debit card and multiple credit cards. The victim reported the theft and canceled all of his cards, but the suspects were still able to make numerous credit card purchases at various Lowe’s stores in Charleston, South Charleston, Barboursville, Nitro, and Huntington. Most of the purchases were for things like Christmas inflatables and gift cards at those stores. They also used the victim’s driver’s license and Social Security cards to open additional credit accounts in the name of Brooke Dean.

Then in December a man and woman entered Oak Hill branch of Fayette County National Bank and used the victim’s driver’s license and debit card to get a counter check which they forged and cashed for $950. If you know who either of these people are you can call Crime Stoppers at 304-255-7867 or the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 304-574-4216.
