Webster Springs Native Receives Funding for Film on WV Prescription Drug Epidemic

A Webster Springs native who initially launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a film focused on the prescription drug epidemic in West Virginia has received funding through a private investor.

Josh Stewart plans on directing, producing and acting in his film, ” Back Fork.”
According to Kickstarter, the film is centered around the story of a man named Waylon who is trying to keep his life and family together. Hopelessness and the inability to heal leads Waylon to the dark path of prescription pills. Stewart who currently resides in California, returns home two to three times a year and hopes his art can accentuate the beauty of the state, shine a light on the issue and promote social change.
