WVU Picked Sixth in Big 12 Preseason Poll

WOAY – West Virginia was picked to finish sixth in the Big 12 preseason football poll Thursday. The Mountaineers received 183 points from ballots submitted by media representatives covering the league.

Oklahoma finished first in the preseason poll, followed by Oklahoma State and Kansas State, with Texas and TCU also placed above WVU. The Sooners are the last remaining team that West Virginia has yet to beat since joining the Big 12.

Two Mountaineers were named to watch lists on Thursday – Kyle Bosch for the Outland Trophy (interior lineman), and Dravon Askew-Henry for the Nagurski Award (defensive player). Both players have started 26 games for the Mountaineers.

Also, Virginia Tech’s Tremaine Edmunds was named to the Nagurski watch list. In addition, he and Askew-Henry are both on the watch list for the Bednarik Award.
